Default 243 Win with Barnes 62 gr Varmint grenade

So I loaded up some 62 gr Barnes VG with IMR 3031 35, 36, and 37g. The 35 gr load was the most accurate with both 3 shot groups under half inch. All were great though with only one of the six groups over one inch.

It's nothing fancy. Stock TC triumph in 243 Win topped with a Scorpion high grade 4x16. Funny thing is that I could rarely get this gun to group under an inch with factory ammo no matter what I tried.

Amazing what hand loads can accomplish. My 6mm is the same way factory ammo good for about 1.5-2 inch groups roll my own and its down to .75 to 1inch.

Thumbs up

For sure the 35 gr of IMR 3031 is the ticket for that rifle. What primer are you using ??

Default 243 Barnes VG

fuzzy39 how are the VG doing on pelts ??? My V-MAX and the Nosler Ballistic Tips are really messing them up; to the point of not enough thread or hide to sew them up.
Although the Noslers are making one ragged hole at 100 yds on paper

Haven't taken any dogs with them yet. Was out with the muzzleloader a few times in October and didn't take the rifle with me. Hadn't been out again until yesterday as I had been in Vegas at a conference for a few days I hadn't planned to carry them (Varmint Grenades) with me for the hunting season as I would like to fill one of my mulie doe tags so I've got some 100gr Hornady BTSP loaded up in front of 40.0 grains of H414. The 100gr shoot really well in the Venture as well, and I want to see what they do to the coyotes. I do plan to do some calling for coyotes though with the VGs. Will let you know when I put some down...
